Today was a fun day. We took a long time to get ready, but we still had a lot of adventures.
We went to a mall at the Louvre to get a phone for my dad. If you want to know why he needed to get a phone, well it is a long story, let me tell you, he lost it in a airplane!!! So, about the mall, when I was waiting my Mom took me to a toy store. It was the best! If you are in Paris you should go. It is called Pylones.
Next, we got in a cab and drove … This is our start of our big day! Guess what it was? Ok, I will tell you… we when to an art museum! It was so cool it was all about Picasso’s art. You should look on my Instagram page so you can see my trip to the Musee Picasso. He did a lot of drawings of faces but, they did not look like faces. They look unique and he did stuff like put the nose on the cheek or put the hand on the cheek. He invented this. It’s called Cubism. Also, Picasso liked girls so he did lots of his paintings on girls; it was funny!!!
After Picasso we went to a little place where we got a drink, sat outside and talked for a while. I had a smoothie, it was kind of yummy, but I gave the rest to my dad.
After that we went for a long walk back to the Latin Quarter where we are staying. We ended up taking a cab because I was tired and hungry and because Mom got us lost. She said she didn’t.
We ended up having dinner outside on a beautiful street in the Latin Quarter by our apartment. There were lots of people walking around, people playing the guitar and handing out roses. There is one technique that the guys handing out roses do. He will say you are beautiful and just put the rose on your table and say it’s for free, but he won’t walk away until you give him money. That’s a good technique! I would want to try that if I’m a rose seller.
I have to go. More tomorrow. Bye!!!!
Well, today was not a big day. Not that is wasn’t awesome. It was just that we didn’t do lots and lots and lots. I woke up at 3.00 am and we drove to the airport. We had to check in with the airline and all that stuff then off to Paris. It felt so good because it was hot and Iceland was so cold. There was beautiful graffiti too. It looked like real drawings.
Paris is huge too. After we finished unpacking we started our adventure for the day. It was a great day. My favorite part of the day was the Eiffel Tower, but before that we took a long walk along the Seine from our apartment in the Latin Quarter. The path by the river was very busy. People were walking, biking, playing and kissing. Paris is romantic. I saw lots of couples kissing! We walked past the pretty water and me and my mom were looking at all the boats along the way.
After a long time I finally saw the top of Eiffel Tower! It made me walk faster. When we got there we all sat on the green grass and took our shoes off to rest. After awhile I said ‘let’s go!’
You can see the whole city. It was night time so there were lots of lights. We were at the tippy top and it was pretty, but every step I took I saw a girl and a guy kissing! And … this is my favorite, a man propose to a girl on the very top of the tower and everyone cheered, it was so nice!!!! After that, we left and rode back on a crazy rickshaw. When we got back, my Mom and I went to a grocery next door to our apartment and got the worlds greatest bread. It’s called a baquette and I love it!
Time for bed. Bye bye!
First, you get a tour guide who knows a lot. Private tour too. He brought us around the whole country! Well, part of the country. The part they call the Golden Circle. It was amazing to see so much in one day.
We went to the continental divide. That is where two tetonic plates are drifting apart. One once every year. That means Iceland gets bigger every year. And the cool thing is you can be on two different plates almost at the same time. One side is Eurasia and the other side is North American. These two plates pulling apart make the country of Iceland have a lot of volcanos!
Next, we got to drink water from a glacier! So cool. I didn’t drink it. I touched it. Mom and dad drank some. They said it was good. The water is 1000 years old! That is the oldest thing I’ve ever touched.
Then we drove to see some geysers. On the way we saw steam coming up EVERYWHERE. This makes it so the people of Iceland get to swim in geothermal pools. Still figuring out what geothermal means, but they share the heat from the earth with everyone in the country. They really like how they get heat and power from the earth.
We went to a huge waterfall that use to belong to a farmer whose daughter swore that she would drown her self in the falls if he sold it to a rich British man who wanted to use it to make a power plant. She fought hard and after her death her family gave it to the government, but made the government promise to never change it.
After the waterfall we went to see see a part of the country that has bubbling mud. It’s too hot to touch and you have to be carful and stay on the path because steam erupts out of the ground without telling you.
Finally we were driven to a local geothermal pool where we sat in hot tubs and I swam in a huge pool. Beat my dad swimming too.
Talk to you later. I’m in Paris now. Bye!!!!!
Today was another fun day! I woke up at 1.00pm and my dad got us breakfast. At 1PM! Then we took a long time to find out what we are going to be doing today!! We booked a tour for tomorrow and got a cab to go to the whale museum, it was cool!!! When I walked into the whale museum we had to check in. The lady gave us headphone so we could hear the exhibit. I learned about how they’ll are you huge and I learned that the biggest whale is the blue whale. I also learned that there are descendants of the rhinoceros. They also had a little restaurant where I got a chocolate croissant. I was so hungry that I eat it right away in one second. After that, we went to the Viking Museum and it was fun too! When we first got to the Viking museum they also gave us headphones to listen to this man talking about it. And after we were finished with that they let us put on clothes that the Vikings wore. They were pretty heavy, but some of them were not. I played with the swords and the shields. I also watched a little movie about how they made the exhibit. You should check out my Instagram page for a great picture at the museum. It is Cricket Graff . After the Viking Museum we took a cab to the Volcano House. I watched a movie about why Iceland has volcanoes. Tectonic Plates. Iceland sits on top of two plates that are pulling apart and make lots of volcanos. The movie says that the people who lived by the volcanos didn’t like it, but I thought it was beautiful. Bye!!!!!!!!!! 😛🌏
Today was a big wow! First, we got breakfast and I fell asleep at the table. I felt sick. Maybe it was because I hadn’t slept in so long . Then we got to our hotel at 9:30 in the morning and I went to bed for the day. It was weird how I went to bed for the day because we use to be in New Orleans and now were in Iceland . It is five hours ahead so the question is…is it day one or day two? And remember how I fell sleep at the table? Well, mommy had to carry me home. And I ploped on the bed. And guess what? I slept for the rest of the day and night and when I woke up it was 4.00 pm and we went to a Justin Bieber concert !!!!! And right now when I am writing this there is a party on the streets!!!! In Iceland!!! So I would love to hear if you think it is day one or day two. Bye! See you tomorrow for my next post!👍🏻🌏🌗🌝🌞
I didnt realize that we were going to sleep on the plane! And the bus! We left the house at 9.30 AM and got on the airplane at 11.30 and went to the next airport in Boston. Spent the night on the plane and when we got off in Iceland it was 4.00 AM! Now I am on the bus tired because I stayed up all night waiting and I can not believe it is the next day!!
